Have you been hearing all the buzz about the new museum that opened in Paris this week? Commissioned by LVMH (Louis Vuitton-Moët Hennessy), the great Frank Gehry has conceived another architectural masterpiece, this time with enormous curved glass walls that float like sails over the Bois de Boulogne. Seven years in the making, it is now home to the Louis Vuitton Foundation and its collection of contemporary art. Gehry has likened his concept to “a cloud of glass,” observing, “This project is a dream, so the first idea was to create a dream…The idea of creating a glass building that is transparent, ephemeral, and like a cloud is difficult to achieve in architecture.” Indeed!

If you happen to be in France, swing over and have a look. Rumor has it admission will be free for these first few days before it gets bumped up to 14 euros per person. And despite the controversy Gehry has caused with some poorly-chosen words last week, his work is still something to behold.
